The Taste of Vancouver
UrbanSweet Honey is a handcrafted artisan blending of the unique nectar available from the various plant and tree blossoms located within the parks, vacant land and home gardens in the metropolitan area of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
As a result of new awareness, and through the now legal and socially acceptable behavior of the urban honey bee, Wildflower urban honey is now available to the public from The UrbanSweet Honey Company. In addition to the creation of delicious honey, urban bees in their travels throughout the city contribute greatly to the pollination of the city's plants. This helps support greater food production from the backyard, street, rooftop and community veggie gardens and enhances the beauty and colour of their flowers and fruits.
UrbanSweet Honey is the result of the contribution of over 30,000 gainfully employed bees and the proceeds of this collective effort have not been treated, processed or pasteurized. At UrbanSweet we pride ourselves on the purity of our product and work hard to ensure that our honey retains the quality of the naturally occurring Greater Vancouver enzymes.
To take full advantage of the combination and timing of the blossom sequence of the local and multicultural imported plants, all our beehives are located within the Metro Vancouver urban land areas and are not migratory. The resulting honey is harvested from the beehives in late Summer.
For the year 2011, honey was collected from beehives located in Vancouver, Coquitlam, New Westminster and north Surrey. The honey is bottled according to Canadian Food Inspection Agency regulations and is as pleasingly close to honey in the hive as possible. UrbanSweet Honey is available in container sizes of 250 and 500 grams.

** Note ** ...... Honey naturally crystallizes. Store at room temperature in a glass container with a firm lid. If crystallized, and you wish to reliquify the honey, place the honey container on a jar lid in a pot of water and heat the water slowly to warm. Within a few minutes of the water reaching a warm temperature (not greater than 120°F.), the honey will start to return to a liquid form.
